Welcome to A Family Affair Craft Boutique and our first post.
We thought that we would start our blog by telling you a little bit about our business.
The “we” speaking are the owners of A Family Affair Craft Boutique, Mom-Athlyn and Daughter- Melissa.
We are located in downtown Kersey, Colorado. We have officially been A Family Affair Craft Boutique for 12 years now. We moved into our first location in 1996. Before that it was my mom’s business called Rainbow Crafts Etc. She ran this business out of the front of my dad’s office and sold her punch needle embroidery supplies when she was a distributor and then later sold her handmade crafts and a few latex and mylar balloons.
I started doing crafts to make extra money my first year of college and soon my mom was taking more of my stuff to craft shows than hers, so we talked about having a home show at my house in Kersey. Well, my dad overheard the conversation and came up with the idea that we just open a store. So that’s how A Family Affair was born. We decided on the name because we depend on our family and friends so much to help. From remodeling our new location, to helping us make craft items, to filling in when we need a rare day off, or have another commitment, we can always count on our family and friends to step in and truly make it A Family Affair!
